I bought a piece of indoor/outdoor carpet for $9.99 at my local hardware store. I started with taping off a 12in. border all around using painter's tape.
Then I used my sketch pencil to draw my flower outlines.
For the outline I used the pure, undiluted paint out of the Patio Paint bottles and a thin brush.
Then I mixed together various colors on my ugh, hem, palate...really just a paper plate. I used a stencil brush such as these...
I mixed my colors with a bit of water and blended them into my flowers so they have a sort of water color/chalky look to them.
